The Reverse Margin™ is a design feature that describes the shape of the margin built into a custom abutment and its complimentary prosthesis. It affects the direction of flow of cement during the process of intra-oral cementation. The Reverse Margin™ redirects the flow of cement away from, rather than into the tissues that surround dental implants. This margin design can be used as part of the Cement Control System™ proposed by Emil L.A. Svoboda PhD, DDS, to prevent or reduce the occurrence peri-implant disease.
